Why dont some torrents download

Thanks, guys, but: Disabling and re-enabling DHT did nothing; most of the trackers are updating or updated, though. I'd tried the "Add Torrent" route before to no avail but tried it again just now with same results: "Connecting to peers Posted March 13, Thanks for the additional info; I just uninstalled uTorrent and may try the free version again. Meanwhile I have Vuze Plus and it isn't doing anything either; may do the same thing with that.

Tixati is running but again, extremely slow. DreadWingKnight Posted March 13, Having problems with multiple clients means it's likely your internet security software or your internet provider blocking more likely the latter The recommendation to downgrade, especially to a version as old as 2. I have tried this on wireless and wired connections I have turned off firewalls and vpn services but nothing has worked. If this is all the work of comcast they are doing one hell of a good job, but please help. I'm am not asking why this is happening but an explanation of why would be appreciated if you can also solve the problem.

Bitcomet also metioned something about a listening port being blocked and would it be unsafe to download a torrent from some website like bitlet or fuge on a school wireless connection. Check your logs. McHenryB Estimable. Jan 31, 1 4, I would try asking the question in one of the Windows forums. Don't even think about trying to use a torrent on a school wireless network; you may end up getting expelled.

What is it that you are trying to download? McHenryB :. I can understand perfectly what Skittle was saying; he answered as if you were running Linux - not unreasonable as you posted in the Linux forum.

Yes I assume you were running Linux. Same sort of requirements apply to windows though: If for some reason the HDD is not mounted think a removable drive that has been "safely removed" then you cannot write to it.

Also if for some reason the torrent clients or your user do not have write permission on the drive. Or a myriad of other reasons. Posted May 21, I've been trying to download torrents but just doesn't work Ive downloaded many in the past, Has been working perfectly fine for 6 months something wrong right now.

I've tried downloading a torrent with many seeds eg.
 More sharing options Harold Feit Posted May 21, What internet security software do you have installed? When I hover my mouse over the red dot, it always shows 'Extreme Peering: 0 local seeders'. And when i hover my mouse over a green dot, it shows 'Extreme Peering: x local seeders' where x is always some single digit number.

I'm attaching two screenshots to give an idea. I guess somehow my system has been set to download ONLY from local seeds I don't know what local seeds are , or else this is due to some malware. Please help me out. Thank you. I have a feeling that this problem has started to occur after a certain update to Windows Defender, around a month ago. I'm saying this because i also have a laptop running Windows 8.

But then, I guess apart from settings within Windows Defender, that particular update has made some other changes which I don't understand because the problem persists even if I entirely disable Windows Defender, Windows Firewall and also my router's firewall.

I'm very much perplexed about those red and green dots, because I don't know if they're being displayed by Windows Defender, utorrent or my browser. Yes, they're working fine. It is getting connected to 56 out of seeders, and the download speed is maximum. I also don't see those stupid red and green dots which I showed through the screenshots on this site.

I've tried pausing all of them, only starting one at a time, changed the order of the trackers, updated the trackers, forced a recheck, restarted the program as well as the computer. Nothing does anything. Some of the new torrents I've added doesn't even "connect enough" to show me the size of the file but other newly added torrents do, so it's not consistent.

I've tried adding torrents from different sources thepiratebay, kat, eztv. Usually I use magnet links, but I've tried downloading the torrent file manually and then opening it in deluge afterwards as well, that doesn't change anything.

So, I'm a bit at my wits end here - does anyone know what I can do to try and get them started again? I share my Internet with my neighbour who has the modem , so I don't know if they have made any changes that could affect this, but the Internet works without a hitch.

It works again now - that makes no sense at all unless writing a forum message is somehow connected by magic I was about to close the program no use having it running if it doesn't do anything - and yes, I've had it opened for hours waiting to see if all it took was patience and then saw that it had started downloading again.

I'm so confused Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders Post by Gnildryw » Fri Jun 12, pm Okay, somehting is deffinitely wrong.
